The fifth and final of the lost TBD comics is also the first color comic, and it appeared in the first issue of Spring 2002. In the Badger Herald, the color comics were printed on Thursdays, as there are no weekend papers. However, if I recall correctly, this was in a special ‘back to school after winter break’ issue. Typical of the general crass nature of the comic strip, this one features full-on vomiting. Enjoy!

Being completely narcissistic, it only took four days for me to show up as a character in the comic strip. This is a true story by the way although, after the fact, my next-door neighbor told me that if she had know I was going to be all alone on Christmas, she would’ve invited me to spend it with her family. So at least I know that people cared. That is also an accurate representation of the crappy TV we had, too.

Either way, how could I go wrong with seven Star Trek movies*, in letterbox**, in a row?!?

*by the point that had only gotten up to Generations
**which was a big deal at the time

Sorry we’re a day behind. Yesterday got a little busier than expected!

Anyhow, today is the second of five lost Too Bloody Drunk comic strips, now being entered into their proper place within the archives. It also features the debut of the beloved (?) TBD character- The Alcohol Fairy!

A big old bonus for the weekend! After sorting through some old boxes. I stumbled upon an old CD-R loaded with files from my old PC I had back in the late-90s/early-00s. Anyhow, located on this disk are the famous lost Too Bloody Drunk comic strips that we all had thought had succumbed to the ravages of time.

These five strips include the first four strips, drawn as a kind of ‘application’ and, upon the quality of which, it would’ve been decided whether or not I would be given a regular strip. Also included is the first color comic I drew the following January, which was also thought to be lost.

Asplenia Studios will be publishing each of these strips over the next five days, culminating in the color strip. Enjoy this trip down memory lane!

As some of you may have noticed, Asplenia Studios has recently been on a roll, publishing a comic every other day. However, that all kind of got knocked about a bit over the past few days as we began the transition from our regular job to becoming a stay-at-home dad while Mrs. Asplenia Studios returns to work after maternity leave.

So, please bear with us as we get settled in. In the meantime, publication of We Call Them Freedom Fries and GAMERGEEKDADDY will be on an irregular schedule for a week or two.

Thanks for your patience, and we hope to be back up and running on a regular schedule soon!
