At my work the Art Department puts on regular contests to spur the creativity of the pupils. They pick a shortlist of entries and hang them as a gallery, put on a showing for the pupils and parents (with food and drinks [including wine for the adults], and usually have an outside judge come in to pick a winner. It is lots of fun!

The most recent contest is ‘Graphite’ – drawings done in pencil. Also, for fun, they opened it up to staff members, as well. This is my entry. It is on A3 paper (42cmx29.7cm/16.5″x11.7″) and was drawn with mechanical pencils using 0.7 f and 0.5 2h lead.
